Position Overview:

The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for providing strong leadership and strategic direction to the Field Operations Team. This will be a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of roofing operations, including quality control, safety compliance, and resource management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, the ability to motivate and inspire team members, and a thorough understanding of roofing systems and construction processes. Additionally, the candidate should be process-driven. efficient, and exhibit a strong customer service focus . 

Responsibilities: 

Team Leadership

• Provide effective leadership and guidance to the roofing operations team, including production managers, leaders, and coordinators. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Hire team members as needed to build an effective team that can meet production demands. Facilitate weekly Field Operations Team meetings and give consistent feedback and guidance to team members. 

Quality Control

• Implement and enforce rigorous quality control standards to ensure that all roofing projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations. Conduct occasional inspections and audits to identify and address any deficiencies promptly. Clearly communicate standards with the Operations Team.

Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the operations department. Implement best practices, tools, and technologies to streamline workflows and enhance overall productivity.

Resource Management

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment. Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Manage warehouse and company vehicle inventory systems. 

Safety Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors. Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and site inspections to mitigate potential risks.

Client Communication

• Serve as the final point of contact for clients regarding any concerns or issues that may arise. Maintain open lines of communication to ensure client satisfaction and address any inquiries or feedback promptly.

Budget Management

• Monitor operations budgets, expenses, and financial performance closely. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project profitability.

Documentation and Reporting

• Provide regular updates and status reports to senior management regarding production performance, milestones, and key metrics.

Requirements

Physical Requirements: 

• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Drive 1-2 hour trips (one way)
• Climb ladder
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Stoop, kneel, reach, crawl and crouch
• Tolerate inclement weather, including heat, cold, humidity, and rain 
• Communicate clearly in writing and orally
• Hearing and vision within normal range
• Use equipment such as cell phone, tablet, laptop, drone, and printer

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in roofing operations management or a similar role within the construction industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets, resources, and timelines.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to roofing and construction activities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
